The Mediterranean School of Business (MSB) at South Mediterranean University (SMU) offers unique
Study Abroad Programs that allow participants to develop a broader vision of the global business
environment and to acquire a first hand appreciation of the opportunities offered by the emerging
Economies of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Two types of short-term Study Abroad Program (SAP) are offered:
- Enrollment in courses regularly offered by MSB to its students.
- Custom-made programs designed around specific topics defined by individual faculty members of the home institution.
Both programs aim at the following objectives:
- Develop a first-hand exposure to business practices in the region through company visits and direct interactions with local executives, business leaders and government officials.
- Acquire a better understanding of the region’s economies, investment climate, incentives and opportunities with particular emphasis on challenges that U.S. companies face when doing business in the countries of the region. Experience a cultural immersion in a country that has been a crossroad of civilizations (Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Turks, French).
Target Participants are MBA students from U.S. or other English speaking universities; graduate students majoring in business administration, international business, international development or other related disciplines and undergraduate seniors (space permitting) Two Optional Credits per course taken at MSB will be awarded to students. Credit transfer will be determined by the student academic advisor or registrar, in consultation with the Office of International Programs in their home university. Students are urged to work closely with these Offices prior to departure to plan a course of studies that will maintain steady progress toward their degree.
