Conference-Debate on ‘Raising Funds from International Venture Capitalists’
Show all events

On December 13th, a conference-debate was held at the capital Tunis on ‘How Tunisian Startups can raise Funds from international venture capitalists’. The event was co-organized by The Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC), The Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and Carthage Business Angels and was co-hosted by Wiki Startup and The Mediterranean School of Business (MSB).

The 2 keynote speakers were Mr. Edward G. Anderson who is the Managing General Partner of Ventures West Management Inc., a Canadian venture capital management firm founded in 1968, and Mr. Thibaut Partsh, attorney-at-law, who is a Partner at the Investment Management practice of Loyens & Loeff, Luxembourg.

The audience was predominantly composed of young entrepreneurs, including MSB students, and a number of venture capitalists. Both discovered during the conference that raising funds from outside your country is no easy task.

The Tunisian entrepreneurs found the presentation quite interesting and enriching, and became more aware of the challenges they face and the steps they need to follow to succeed in raising funds from international Venture Capitalists for their Startups.
